Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the most serious problems threatening public health globally. It occurs when microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, develop the ability to resist antimicrobials that would normally kill them or inhibit their growth. This makes treatments such as antibiotics, antivirals and antifungals ineffective, increasing the risk of infections that are harder to treat and cross-resistance, which can extend across different classes of drugs.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 700,000 people die each year from antibiotic-resistant infections, and it is estimated that, without effective interventions, this number could rise to 10 million by 2050. Antimicrobial resistance is mainly fueled by excessive and inappropriate use of antibiotics, but also by environmental contamination and infected surfaces, which are a route of transmission of resistant strains.
In this context, the disinfection of surfaces and objects plays a crucial role in preventing and controlling the spread of resistant microorganisms, helping to reduce the risk of infections and limiting the need for pharmacological treatments.
From the SCUDO research comes BioRase, developed to respond to this need, offering an effective solution against bacteria and viruses.
Thanks to its innovative formula, BioRase works effectively, reducing the bacterial load on objects and surfaces, preventing the proliferation of microorganisms, even on those surfaces that are difficult to sanitize. The effectiveness of SCUDO against Antimicrobial Resistance is based on its long-term protective barrier capacity. This makes it a fundamental tool in the fight against AMR, helping to prevent the spread of resistant infections and improving overall health security.
